Buying stationery in Welkom
Welkom was built as the centre of the Free State goldfields, and mines, mine contractors and engineering workshops still order logbooks, labels, permit forms, toner and archive storage, alongside offices of the Matjhabeng municipality and Lejweleputswa district. Central University of Technology's Welkom campus and Goldfields TVET College add student demand, and schools in Thabong and the town create a big January stationery season. Grain farms in the surrounding district need invoice books and dispatch stationery at harvest. Stock commonly comes about 160 km from Bloemfontein or from Johannesburg, with two working days a realistic delivery time for most orders.
Typical stationery packs requests in the area come from:
- Factories and warehouses: mines and factories giving stationery packs to employees' children or local schools
- Schools: grade-specific packs made up from the school list and collected by parents in January
- Government and municipalities: municipal and departmental outreach programmes handing out learner packs in communities
- Offices and small businesses: company CSI teams funding a stationery pack for every learner at a partner school
- Universities and colleges: student orientation packs with notebooks, pens and a folder for first-years
- Shops and resellers: shops selling ready-made grade packs to parents during the back-to-school season

What to include in your request
- List every item in the pack with quantities
