Printing services cover everything from a short run of flyers to thousands of brochures, posters, banners and booklets. StationerySupplies.co.za is a free quote service. You fill in one form with your job details and we pass it to independent printers near you, who quote you directly. We do not print, design or deliver anything ourselves, and there is no fee or obligation to accept a quote. Tell us what you need printed, the quantity, size and deadline.

Digital or litho printing services?

Digital printing services print straight from your file without plates. They suit short runs, quick turnaround and variable data such as names or numbers. Litho (offset) printing uses plates and costs more to set up, but the price per copy falls sharply on long runs, and colour matching is very precise. As a rough guide, a few hundred copies usually go digital and several thousand go litho, but printers will advise which is cheaper for your job.

Large-format work such as banners, vehicle wraps and window graphics is printed on separate wide-format machines, using vinyl, PVC or fabric rather than paper, so name the material if you already know it.

What local printers produce

Most commercial printers handle a wide mix of work:

  • Flyers and leaflets: A6, A5 and A4, single or double-sided
  • Brochures: folded A4 or A3 sheets, often on gloss or silk paper
  • Posters: A3 to A0 for notices, events and shop windows
  • Banners: PVC banners, pull-up banners and fabric displays
  • Booklets: saddle-stitched or perfect-bound reports, catalogues and programmes

Many also print business cards, labels and stickers and printed business stationery.

Artwork, file formats, bleed and proofs

Printers prefer a print-ready PDF with fonts embedded and images at 300 dpi. Artwork that runs to the edge needs bleed, usually 3 mm extra on each side, so trimming does not leave white edges. Keep text a few millimetres inside the trim line. Always check the proof, a PDF or printed sample, before approving, because errors found after printing are costly. If you have no artwork, many printers offer design at an extra charge. Ask how many rounds of changes are included before extra design time is billed.

Printing services close to me: turnaround and price

Choosing printing services close to you saves on courier costs and makes collection easy. Digital jobs can often be ready in one to three working days; litho, finishing and large booklets take longer. Price depends on quantity, paper, colours, finishing and urgency. Ask whether quotes include 15% VAT, delivery and design. New customers usually pay by EFT before the job runs; regular clients may get an account. For campaigns and events, booking print time a week or two ahead avoids paying rush fees.

Frequently asked questions

Does StationerySupplies.co.za print my job?
No. We are a free quote service and do not print, design or deliver. Independent local printers receive your request and quote you directly with their own prices, paper options and turnaround.
What file should I send to the printer?
A high-resolution PDF is safest, with fonts embedded, images at 300 dpi, CMYK colour and 3 mm bleed where artwork runs to the edge. Printers will tell you if they need changes before printing.
Can I get printing done in a day?
Some digital printers offer same-day or next-day service for simple jobs such as flyers and posters, often at a rush fee. Litho, booklets and special finishes need more time. State your deadline clearly in the request.
Can I ask for several items in one request?
Yes. List each item with its size, paper and quantity, for example flyers, posters and a pull-up banner for one event. Printers can quote the whole package or the items they produce in-house.
